• Pneumococcal
  • Adults who have had PCV13

Should an 80-year-old patient who was given PPSV23 at age 65 years but has not received any other pneumococcal vaccination be revaccinated with PPSV23?

No. ACIP does not recommend revaccination with PPSV23 for any adult who has received a dose of PPSV23 after turning 65. However, this patient should receive a dose of PCV15, PCV20, or PCV21 now.
