- Contraindications & Precautions
We had a foster parent request only certain vaccines for a 3-month-old, stating that delaying the child’s immunization schedule had been suggested by another healthcare provider due to the possible residual effects of heroin taken by the mother during pregnancy. The baby appeared healthy. Should we delay anything?
Heroin use or addiction of the mother is not a reason to delay vaccination of an otherwise healthy infant.
