The translations for some VISs on our website are from previously published English-language versions that have since been updated. Unfortunately, IAC is not always able to obtain translations as updates are issued. Please ensure that your patients receive information consistent with the current English-language version of the following VISs.
Translations of the June 30, 2006, Inactivated Influenza VIS
Armenian Thai     
These translations do not contain the following CDC update:
  • CDC updated the VIS for the 2007-08 season. Only influenza vaccines and the VIS for the 2007-08 season should be used. All influenza vaccines from the previous season have expired.
Translations of the May 24, 2004, Inactivated Influenza VIS
French Ilokano Japanese
Italian      
These translations do not contain the following CDC updates:
  • CDC added recommending vaccination of children aged 24-59 months and their contacts.
  • Section 3: CDC added to the list of people at high risk for complications from influenza, "People with certain muscle or nerve disorders (such as seizure disorders or severe cerebral palsy) that can lead to breathing or swallowing disorders."
Translations of the May 6, 2003, Inactivated Influenza VIS
Serbo-Croatian  
These translations do not contain the following CDC updates:
  • CDC added recommending vaccination of children aged 24-59 months and their contacts.
  • Section 1: Influenza is now described as "very contagious." Fatigue is listed as a complication of the disease.
  • Section 2: Information about 2004 Institute of Medicine report about thimerosal was added. It also says "If you are concerned about thimerosal, ask your doctor about thimerosal-free influenza vaccine."
  • Section 3: CDC added to the list of people at high risk for complications from influenza, "People with certain muscle or nerve disorders (such as seizure disorders or severe cerebral palsy) that can lead to breathing or swallowing disorders."
  • Section 5: The first paragraph has some changes. the last sentence (about simultaneous administration) is simpler.
  • Section 7: The VAERS website changed to www.vaers.hhs.gov
  • Section 8: CDC added live influenza vaccine to the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program.

These translations do not contain the following CDC updates:
