The NBA and WNBA, in collaboration with the Society for Adolescent Medicine, have launched Vaccines for Teens, a national multimedia campaign designed to educate teens and their parents about the importance of vaccination against serious, potentially life-threatening diseases.

Oscar Nominated Film Raises Polio Awareness
The Final Inch, nominated for an Academy Award in the best documentary short subject category, chronicles the challenges health organizations and governments face during the final stages of polio eradication. The Final Inch follows the massive mission to eradicate polio from the planet. One of history’s most feared diseases, now largely forgotten; polio has become a disease of the world’s poor.

Shot by Shot series on YouTube
Supported by the California Immunization Coalition, the Shot by Shot: Stories of vaccine-preventable diseases project aims to collect video testimonies of peoples personal experiences with vaccine-preventable diseases (visual histories) to help illuminate and preserve the human experience of the diseases, as well as to create an ongoing, lasting database that can be called upon for training, educational, and awareness purposes. Look for the official Shot-by-Shot: Stories of Vaccine-Preventable Diseases website coming summer 2009!
