PCV (pneumococcal conjugate) vaccine is routinely given to infants and toddlers.
You are encouraged to distribute the up-to-date English-language VIS (above) at the same time as the translation.

Unfortunately, IAC is not always able to obtain translations as updates are issued. Please ensure that your patients receive information consistent with the current English-language version of the following VISs.

These translations do not contain the following CDC updates:
  • Information on the projected 3-year duration of protection has been deleted (it's likely much longer)
  • An upper age limit "under 5 years" has been placed on vaccinating children over the age of two years who are at increased risk of serious pneumococcal disease.
  • The website of the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, www.vaers.org has been added.
  • A new URL for the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program www.hrsa.gov/osp/vicp has been added.
