INTRON A APPROVED FOR PEDIATRIC USE IN CHRONIC HEPATITIS B VIRUS INFECTION

On August 18, 1998, INTRON A, interferon alfa-2b, recombinant, was approved for use in children one year of age or older for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus infection by the  U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). INTRON A, manufactured by Schering-Plough Corporation, is the only interferon currently licensed in the United States for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus infection.

AS WE PREVIOUSLY REPORTED.
