INTRON A APPROVED FOR PEDIATRIC USE IN CHRONIC HEPATITIS B VIRUS INFECTION
On August 18, 1998, INTRON A, interferon alfa-2b, recombinant, was approved for use in
children one year of age or older for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus infection
by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). INTRON A, manufactured by
Schering-Plough Corporation, is the only interferon currently licensed in the United
States for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus infection.

"Immunization Update - 1998," CDC's satellite broadcast on Thursday, September
10, will be broadcast from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (eastern time) and repeated from 1 p.m. to
3:30 p.m. (eastern time) NOT FROM 12 NOON TO 2:30 P.M. AS WE PREVIOUSLY REPORTED. For a
