THE FALL/WINTER 1999-2000 ISSUE OF "NEEDLE TIPS" IS AVAILABLE ON THE WEB AND WILL BE MAILED NEXT WEEK

The fall/winter 1999-2000 issue of "NEEDLE TIPS & the Hepatitis B Coalition News" is now available on the Immunization Action Coalition's website (all 28 pages). Hard copies will be mailed next week. You can download the entire issue of "NEEDLE TIPS" from the web or choose to view selected articles from the publication's table of contents below. There are three different ways to download"NEEDLE TIPS" or its featured articles.

WHAT'S IN THE LATEST ISSUE OF "NEEDLE TIPS?"

The fall/winter 1999-2000 issue of "NEEDLE TIPS" is packed full of new and practical immunization information you can use and distribute to clinicians and patients. The list printed below summarizes the features in the latest issue. Remember that all of the materials created and distributed by the Immunization Action Coalition (IAC), including "NEEDLE TIPS," are camera ready and copyright free. 4. "Give these people influenza vaccine!" A one-page reminder for clinicians listing individuals for whom influenza vaccine is recommended. Based on the recommendations of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the U.S. Public Health Service.

5. NEW! Influenza Vaccine Information Statement (VIS) from CDC. This new Influenza VIS from CDC carries the date of June 1, 1999 and is the most current version of the Influenza VIS. Make sure you throw your 1998-99 version in the recycling bin and substitute this one.

6. Revised! "Summary of Rules for Adult Immunization." This table combines the recommendations for adult immunization onto one page. It now includes guidelines for the use of Lyme disease vaccine.

7. "What's Your State Doing?" A one-page table documenting which states have hepatitis B vaccination laws and/or varicella vaccine or immunity laws for daycare, kindergarten, and/or middle school entry. Includes dates of implementation for these laws.

10. Revised! "Screening Questionnaire for Child and Teen Immunization." Give this form to your patient's parent or guardian before offering vaccines in clinic. Includes important questions about child/teen medical history and possible contraindications to vaccination.
