NOW YOU CAN DOWNLOAD 17 FOREIGN LANGUAGE VACCINE INFORMATION STATEMENTS (VISs) FROM IAC'S WEBSITE!

Every Vaccine Information Statement (VIS) that has been translated into foreign languages by the State of California's Department of Health Services and the Minnesota Department of Health can now be downloaded from the Immunization Action Coalition's website at: http://www.immunize.org/vis/

All of the foreign language VISs posted on IAC's website are camera ready. You can download any VIS and make as many copies as you need!

Here are some questions and answers you might want to read before downloading:

Q: How many languages have the VISs been translated into?
A: Seventeen.

Q: Can I also download the English versions from your site?
A:
Yes.

Q: What are the languages?
A:
Armenian, Cambodian, Chinese, Farsi, Hmong, Japanese, Korean, Laotian, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Samoan, Serbo-Croatian, Somali, Spanish, Tagalog, Vietnamese, and English. (Coming soon to IAC's website: VISs translated into Haitian-Creole!)

Q: Who provided the translations?
A:
The VISs were translated by either the California Department of Health Services or the Minnesota Department of Health. Thank you, thank you, thank you, to both state health departments!

Q: Are the foreign language VISs easy to download?
A:
Many of the files are large so if you are having trouble, make sure you read the instructions at the top of IAC's VIS homepage about how to print out the camera-ready copies.

Q: What if I still can't download the camera-ready copies?
A:
Call the immunization program at your state health department and ask them to send you the camera-ready copies you need. For a list of state immunization program phone numbers, click here: http://www.immunize.org/nslt.d/n18/coord18.htm

Q: What if my state health department doesn't have copies?
A:
You can request the copies you need from the California Department of Health Services by e-mailing Wendi Cate at wcate@dhs.ca.gov or sending a fax to (510) 883-6015, or calling (510) 540-2964, or you can call the Minnesota Department of Health at (800) 657-3970.

Q: Where can I find information on how, why, and when to use VISs?
A:
CDC's instructions for use of VISs, as well as a Q & A on VISs, can be found on CDC's National Immunization Program website at: http://www.cdc.gov/nip/publications/VIS/default.htm

Q: Is information about the language and publication date printed on each VIS?
A:
The specific identifying information for each VIS is printed at the bottom of the last page of the VIS.
